Dr Abigael San
Chartered Clinical Psycohologist
Dr Abigael San is working alongside United Minds Project and creating our clinical material. She is working on our self-help tips and training booklets which will contain a variety of information on mental health illnesses and what we can do to help those who are suffering.
She is a fantastic addition to the United Minds Project family and we are very grateful for her to be on board. She has done and has got some amazing things which can be read below.
Dr Abigael San (B.Sc [Hons], M.Sc, D.Clin.Psy, AFBPsS) is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist. She holds a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from University College London, a master’s degree in addictions from the Institute of Psychiatry and an undergraduate degree in psychology from Goldsmiths College, University of London. She has 15 years’ experience working in the NHS, has provided treatment to patients and supervision to clinical staff at The Priory Hospital North London and has also been an honorary lecturer for doctoral trainees at University College London. Dr Sanhas worked for many years as an expert witness with the courts and as a consultant for various media organisations.
At her private practice in Mill Hill, North West London, Dr San treats a range of mental health problems in people of all ages. She tailors therapy to the individual but works primarily using CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) and mindfulness, with her psychological perspective being informed by other approaches including psychodynamic and attachment theory.
Dr San works extensively in all areas of mental health and has special interests in anxiety, addictions, trauma, forensic psychology, emotional abuse and learning disability. She treats children, adolescents, adults, older adults and couples.
Dr San is an Associate Fellow and Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS no 079401), is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC no PYL19960) and is recognised by all the major health insurance companies.
Dr San will be creating our clinical material (bookmarks and training booklets), she will be working with us in a freelance position and we hope to have her continuous support throughout our journey.
